Augmentin (Amoxicillin / Clavulanate) is a combination antibiotic. Amoxicillin kills bacteria and prevents them from reproducing and making their own protective covering. Clavulanate stops chemicals the bacteria make to resist antibiotics.Zithromax (Azithromycin) is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves.
