This makes blood vessels relax, which lowers blood pressure and allows more blood and oxygen to get to your heart and other organs.Hyzaar (Losartan / Hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination medicine that lowers your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes extra water from your body. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes your blood vessels to lower you blood pressure and allow more blood and oxygen to get to your heart and other organs.
