  • Ambien (Zolpidem) can harm your unborn baby. It can cause severe lack of oxygen to the body (respiratory depression). The risk is higher the later you are in your pregnancy, especially if taking other nervous system depressants. It's not safe to take medicines like Ambien (Zolpidem) while pregnant, since your baby may be at risk for withdrawal and other serious side effects. Since it only takes a small amount of medicine to be significant in your baby’s body don't take Ambien (Zolpidem) if you're breast-feeding.
