  • Many of the listed side-effects are the same as for menopause. I think it's difficult to know how much of what people are reporting as side-effects are really caused by menopause. My hands and feet are killing me. This is listed as a common side-effect. However, these symptoms started months BEFORE I went on arimidex or even knew I had cancer.
    Breast cancer
  • I developed painful trigger fingers and thumbs, plus De Quervain's tenosynovitis (like carpal tunnel except in the inner side tendon) in both wrists. My feet hurt when I walked--walked like a very old person. Don't take it!
    A few months
  • Joint pain and weight gain. The joint pain stopped after I stopped taking the drug, but I haven't been able to get the weight off.
  • Nothing helped. But 6 days after I quit taking it most of the horrendous side effects went away.
    A year or so
I was taking it as an anti-estrogen to inhibit re-occurence of cancer.
