  • Not for sudden anxiety attacks, but can help keep a baseline to prevent both my panic attacks and control mania with bipolar disorder.
    Age: 34
    Gender: Man
    Taken for: Panic disorder
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • Actually began taking this for KNOTS in tummy and IBS. Worked off the bat. Been on it for 20 years and keeps me able to work and socialize. DON"T run out or quit, the withdrawals are horrible, worse than most Pain Pills, I know, been there.
    Taken for: Panic disorder
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • Works great for staying asleep, but its impossible to stop taking it once you're hooked. Very addictive
Taken for: None of the above
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • It takes a bit to kick in, so it works best as a now-and-then pill for when you're going to be in a situation you know makes you anxious.
    Age: 21
    Gender: Woman
    Taken for: Social anxiety
Duration taken: A year or so
  • Take it in the evening before you go to sleep, it keeps you even throughout the next day. Make sure to not take it too late, otherwise drowsiness can occur in the AM
    Age: 27
    Gender: Woman
    Taken for: Panic disorder
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • Warning! Although Klonopin and other benzos work well to relax you, they cause PHYSICAL dependence. I was on a low dose (1 mg) and it took me a year to get off of it. A BMJ article (9/2014) says that benzo use causes dementia. Stay away!
    Age: 55
    Gender: Woman
    Taken for: Seizures
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • If you are taking it long-term, try to take as low a dose as possible. Withdrawl after long-term use is extremely unpleasant.

    Gender: Man
    Taken for: Panic disorder
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • Dosage and timing is everything with Clonazepam. Start off at 1 mg and evaluate from there. Also take at least and 90 minutes before you need it to start working.
    Taken for: Social anxiety
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • I was on the medication for 7 years before stopping because I became pregnant. Did not stop the medication until I was 20 weeks along. Without it I feel very moody/anxious but with the medication I feel level and fine. I had no withdrawal symptoms. I did have to increase my dose over the years to feel level on it. On a sidenote, my baby is perfectly healthy despite the risks associated with it during pregnancy. It is not safe to use while breastfeeding so I did not start back
