  • Take it around the same time every day. I have to take mine in the morning and at night. Also taking it with food helps curb nausea & any possible drowsiness.

  • Splitting up dosages in the morning and evening helps with "smoothening" out the side effects such as dizziness. Definitely take the branded XR version. Generic Lamotrigine was horrible for me.

  • I was on Serezone for 10 years and stopped working. I augmented with Lamictal and it made a world of difference. I have a lot more energy and my outlook has changed. As of 2 months ago, I am no longer on Serezone, just Lamictal. It is great

  • Lamictal saved my life. However some of the side effects are annoying such as neck pain, problems with co-ordination, ( have had a few very bad falls) judging distances ( parking is a nightmare) and some minor.skin problems. Overall the side effects are worth it to me. My moods are very stable. Very rarely depressed or hypomanic. Life is good.

  • Weirdest/best side effect from any medicine goes to Lamictal - for the first couple weeks I had really intense and vivid movie-like dreams. It gives me horrible headaches but I take it before bed so I sleep through it.

  • this is the first medication that worked for both seizures and bipolar disorder. seriously a life saver.

  • Worked wonders for mood stability, best ever. Do not miss a dose or you will go through nasty withdrawal! Have immunoglobulin levels checked before starting & monitored, as it can cause an immune deficiency.
