  • You have to commit to this medication. If I miss a day the withdrawal is bad and I have mood instability. But overall it has made me so much more stable, my life has changed for the better.

  • Small therapeutic window -- tough to find the right dose, but at the appropriate dose, truly deserves its reputation as the gold-standard for BP treatment.

  • I take a low dose Lithium, 450 mg, which is at least half of the typical maintenance therapy. Very little has been written about this low dose version because Lithium can't be patented. I have no noticeable side effects.
