  • I come from a long line of people with chronic hypertension. I was first prescribed Procardia XL during pregnancy, when Aldomet no longer worked to regulate my blood pressure and Labetalol gave me debilitating headaches. My youngest child is now five and I'm still happily taking Procardia XL 30 mg. I did have swelling in my calves and ankles initially but it subsided with time. It controls my BP well and I've never had to alter my lifestyle because of it.

  • Caused considerable swelling of my gums after doubling the dose from 30 mg to 60 mg. Within 3 months of stopping, gums had returned to normal.
  • Swelling pain in limbs, so intense in the feet (turned puffy bright red) couldn't stand up had to elevate for hours, wasn't worth the trouble.
