  • Resisted being put on this stuff for years for fear of swelling. Sure enough, I experienced pitting edema in legs and feet - MD changed my diuretic which took all the fluid off. BP is the best it's been in my whole life though!

  • Feet and ankle swelling greater with higher dosage. Moved to lowest dosage 2.5mg for best trade off between swelling and reduced angina. Blood pressure has slowly increased over the years. Just changing to Lisinopril for more effective BP management.

  • This drug worked well for my blood pressure but caused unbearable side effects. I had swollen ankles and knees that were very painful. I also had "hot knees and ankles"... they were red and hot to the touch after any activity. The redness, swelling and pain subsided soon after I switched drugs.

  • No side effects experienced after first couple of weeks from commencement. Initially a little dizziness. Taken in addition to olmesartan (Olmetec). Resting BP constantly ranges 118/65 to 130/75 but usually around lower reading.

  • swelling ankles and feet happened over many months so not obvious at first. Got really bad after 10 months use. Benazepril better in terms of no swelling, not as good in terms of lowering BP.

  • I wish I had been warned of the swelling of feet & ankles so I would never have started it. I hardly eat anything with salt because I thought that was the problem until I just went on line. Will be talking to my doctor about an alternative.
