How it works
ProveraAygestinPrometrium
Provera (Medroxyprogesterone) contains medroxyprogesterone, a progesterone hormone that works to balance hormone changes in the body. In premenopausal women, it prevents thickening of the uterus lining and regulates your menstrual cycle. It's also added to hormone therapy to protect the uterus from the harmful effects of estrogen.Aygestin (Norethindrone) contains norethindrone, a progestin, which is a synthetic progesterone hormone. It regulates your period, treats irregular vaginal bleeding, and eases the pain of endometriosis (a condition where tissue that lines your uterus is found in other parts of the body).Prometrium (Progesterone) contains progesterone, a hormone that regulates the menstrual cycle and protects the uterus from the negative effects of estrogen when used for postmenopausal treatment.
