Common concerns from people taking Risperdal (risperidone)

Final section. Do you want to return to drug navigation?
  • Risperdal (Risperidone) can increase your blood sugar and cholesterol. Exercise and eat healthy food to lower your risk.
  • I take it only twice a week .5 at a time for prevention of break through symptoms. I experience only about 1-2# weight gain that I can work off the rest of the week. When I am in a serious state of mania, I take 1-3mg day. This ALWAYS works
  • It made me incredibly agitated and it hurt my hips to sit still. (Akathisia, I think it is called.) I had to take Benadryl to take the edge off of not being able to sit still. Then I started lactating...and I haven't nursed in over 2 years. Not worth it for me
  • Can cause dizziness and drowsiness.
  • Risperdal (Risperidone) can cause you to gain weight. Exercise and eat healthy food to lower your risk.
  • May cause weight gain and worsen cholesterol or blood sugar.
  • Moderate risk of weight gain and problems with cholesterol or blood sugar compared to other antipsychotics.
  • Too many side effects for me, had to stop. Caused blurry vision, weight gain, and a slew of other crap.
  • Serious weight gain
  • Weight gain is awful. About 40 lbs in 6 months but it keeps my mania and irritability under wraps so I guess I have to pick an evil.
