  • Have to take it early to avoid losing sleep
    Gender: Man
    Taken for: ADHD
Duration taken: Two years or more
  • Don't take it after noon, under any circumstances. I took it at 2pm on a weekend because it was the time I woke up, and I couldn't fall asleep until 7am the next day.
    Age: 28
    Gender: Woman
    Duration taken: A few months
  • I can't eat. At all during the day. If I forget to eat in the morning before taking it, which I frequently do, I end up in a lot of pain from hunger and I am unable to eat. I end up gagging on my food when I try.
    Age: 20
    Gender: Woman
    Duration taken: A few months
  • Take it early in the morning or else you'll be up all night! Also, when i first started taking it I was very easily irritable. That side affect has subsided now that I've been taking it longer
    Age: 21
    Gender: Woman
    Duration taken: A few months
  • Vyvanse is considerably more helpful than any other proscription on the market
    Gender: Man
    Taken for: ADHD
    Duration taken: A few months
  • I never believed people who said they "forget to eat" until I started Vyvanse. You get wrapped up in other things and don't feel hungry! Do remember to eat though. Headaches and irritability might mean you need food. Obvious but true.

    Gender: Woman
    Taken for: ADHD
Duration taken: A year or so
  • Take it early in the morning with a protein. I find that it is more intense after eating a protein bar or a banana.

  • Ideally you should remember to eat regularly and stay hydrated (which is difficult with ADHD) but it's extremely important during the first week of this medication. I was bad about it and felt a really hard come down the first several days. It felt like a bad hangover. And for what it's worth--I have two anxiety disorders and this medication has not induced a panic response since I have been on it. In fact, I rarely feel anxious these days. It's a godsend.

  • May interfere with deep sleep. Mild gastrointestinal upset.

  • Takes effect too slowly. I don't notice it until 30-60 minutes post-administration. That's my only complaint.
