  • I only take one medication and its Xanax. I am 64 year old female with PTSD. I wake up and my pulse is 127 without xanax. Yes it's addicting cause it works. Last panic attack didn't have my Xanax on hand, ended up in hospital for 3 days

  • This can become habit forming and is not for ongoing use. I had some friends that were taking it daily, I only as needed. Also not really for sleep, it is not long lasting to sustain.

  • It is the ONLY thing that stops the racing thoughts so I can fall asleep. I have tried ambien, lunesta ativan, and others over the years. No hangover if you take less than.10

  • I found the smallest dose that worked for me and take it only when I really, really need it.

  • I have been very careful taking Xanax due to danger of dependency. I only take it during severe panic attacks or Anxiety. A 30 day script usually lasts me 90 days. I also practice meditation which helps greatly.

  • Works rather fast (< than 30 mins.), so no need to take Xanax to anticipate an anxiety attack. Knowing you have a tablet on you is often enough. It does make you feel rather sleepy sometimes, depending on the dose.

  • Try lower dosages first. You may be surprised about how little it takes. Because it is quick acting I can wait and take it only when I really need it.

  • Worth the drowsiness and zombie-like affect it gives me when I'm suffering from a full-blown panic attack or have had a few days of insomnia. Must be careful not to use it regularly because it's very addictive.

  • I wish I would've been told how habit forming Xanax is. I started taking this at 16 and destroyed my entire high school career and ruined a lot of things for me. Be careful with Xanax, it can be detrimental. Worked like a charm for anxiety but i couldn't stop until I was in rehab.

  • Took it to deal with horrific SSRI withdrawal. Do not take it days on end. Try to take it only when needed so you don't built a tolerance and it works. Don't drive unless you have no side effects. I did not feel safe to drive and didn't. Helped with anxiety but didn't always help to calm thoughts and does not help muscle tension like other benzos may. I had slight dizziness and light-headedness. While it served its purpose, I wouldn't take again, I would try a different med.
