Downsides

- If you're taking the liquid suspension and you have diabetes, you will need to watch your blood sugar closely. You must take it 2 hours before or 1 hour after a meal.
- Spectracef (cefditoren) can interact with blood thinners and make you more likely to bleed.
- You can't take Spectracef (cefditoren) and antacids at the same time. Your pharmacist can help you figure out when the best time to take your antacids is.
- If you're diabetic, Spectracef (cefditoren) can cause a false positive result if you're using Clinitest to measure your urine sugar levels. Talk to your doctor about alternative urine sugar tests.
- Spectracef (cefditoren) can also affect other lab test so let your physicians know that you're taking Spectracef (cefditoren).
