  • Cefzil (cefprozil) oral suspension contains phenylalanine and may not be a good choice for patients with phenylketonuria (PKU). PKU is a rare condition in which patients are born without the ability to properly break down an amino acid called phenylalanine. Talk with your doctor if you or a family member has PKU.

  • Cefzil (cefprozil) gets removed from the body through your kidneys. If your kidneys are not working well it's hard to completely remove Cefzil (cefprozil) from your body.
