Reviewed Coumadinon 9/8/2017Read all of the warnings available on Coumadin and avoid contact sports, stay away from anything containing vitamin K, forget shaving with a blade, ask about intereactions before taking ANY over-the-counter drugs.

Reviewed CoumadinI got the best result from taking half a pill each day, and an additional quarter of a pill twice a week. In other words, I fine-tuned the dosage. Once I got that down, coumadin was hassle-free, effective, and cheap.

Reviewed Coumadinon 8/29/2017If you're taking Coumadin (warfarin), find an anticogulant clinic to help you through the process. It'll be worth every mile you have to drive to get there versus taking the newer drugs, such as Xaralto. It occurs to me that I don't see any ads on TV about warfarin -- been around a long time. The ads for newer drugs seem to take more time presenting their disclaimers about the life-threatening side effects than the benefits. That seems to have caught the attention of lawyers.

Reviewed Coumadinon 2/8/2018Coumadin effect can be "blocked" by the doctor (vitamin K), if necessary, and that's important to me.

Reviewed warfarinon 2/22/2018For anyone whining about "inconvenience ..." REMEMBER THIS!! warfarin/Coumadin is the ONLY anticoagulant that can be tested (@ a lab, hospital, OR @ home), so YOU AND your Dr. KNOW exactly WHERE your coagulation status is. PERIOD. This is critical, because having any idea HOW effective YOUR blood thinner is, does NOT HAVE to be guessed at, like it DOES with the other thinners listed! I always know right where I am, and if I am at serious risk for either a clot OR a bleed.
