    Glyset (miglitol) can cause severely low blood sugar, especially if you're taking it with other drugs to control your diabetes. Make sure you have glucose tablets or gel to treat low blood sugar since foods that have sucrose won't work with Glyset (miglitol).

  • If you skip a meal, then you should skip the dose for that meal.
Kidneys and liver
  • Glyset (miglitol) is not recommended for people with kidney problems. Talk to your doctor if you've had problems with your kidneys before, and they'll probably give you a different medication.
