  • Don't get a live vaccine (like the nasal flu vaccine) either 2 weeks before or 48 hours after taking Flumadine (rimantadine). If you do, the vaccine won't be as effective.

Food
  • Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
Kidneys and liver
  • There may be drug buildup for people with liver or kidney problems. This can be dangerous and Flumadine (rimantadine) can make your symptoms worse. If you notice symptoms like yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain, unable to pass urine, or a big weight gain, talk to your doctor. Your doctor will do blood tests to check your liver and kidney regularly.
