    • Higher risk if:
    • Elderly patients with dementia

    Older patients with dementia-related psychosis have a higher risk of death when treated with antipsychotic medications. Most deaths appeared to be related to the heart (eg, heart failure, sudden death) or infectious (eg, pneumonia) in nature. Risperdal (risperidone) is not approved to treat dementia-related psychosis.

    This is a black box warning. The FDA requires this warning when there is a significant risk of serious or life-threatening effects that anyone taking the drug should consider.

I had to take Benadryl to take the edge off of not being able to sit still. Then I started lactating...and I haven't nursed in over 2 years. Not worth it for me
