  • Vantin (cefpodoxime) can cause diarrhea. This usually goes away after you're done with the medicine. Taking probiotics in the form of yogurt, supplements or drinks a few hours after you take the medication may help. Also, some people rarely can have a form of diarrhea that happens a few weeks after you take an antibiotic. The symptoms include severe pain with loose stools or bloody stools. Talk to your doctor right away if this happens.
